Stunning locations
Paphos and Peyia
Traditional living combined with tourism and natural beauty.
Paphos is a city on the southwest coast of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. Inhabited since Neolithic times, it has several sites relating to the cult of goddess Aphrodite, whose mythical birthplace was at Old Paphos (Kouklia). New Paphos is the modern city that incorporates the harbour and the ancient ruins of tombs, fortresses, theatres and villas at Paphos Archaeological Park.
Paphos (also known as Pafos) is a busy but relatively small city. Known for its Old Town attractions, it is surrounded by a collection of traditional small villages. Paphos has its own airport which is approximately 25 minutes from the city centre.
Peyia (also known as Pegeia) is a town in the Paphos District of Cyprus. It is located 14 km northwest of Paphos, at the southern end of the Akamas Peninsula and is situated mainly on steep coastal hills near Coral Bay.
Peyia is a popular destination for many people who move to this area and offers a nice choice of bars and restaurants. Coral Bay is a popular choice for tourists and has a beautiful beach with the Sea Caves close by.
Larnaca and Limassol
Busy cities with gorgeous beaches and bustling nightlife.
Larnaca (also known as Larnaka) is a port city on the south coast of Cyprus. It’s known for Finikoudes Beach, a sandy strip in the city centre backed by a palm lined seaside promenade. Buzzing bars line the waterfront at Mackenzie Beach. Just offshore, the MS Zenobia wreck is a popular dive site. The 9th-century Church of Saint Lazarus contains the tomb of the saint said to have risen from the dead. Close to Larnaca is the busy holiday resort of Ayia Napa. Larnaca airport is the largest on the island and serves the region including the capitol Nicosia.
Limassol is a city on the southern coast of Cyprus approximately 45 minutes from Paphos and Larnaca. It is known for the centuries old Limassol Castle, home to the Cyprus Medieval Museum and its collection of pottery and tombstones. On the seafront is the Prokymea (Molos) Sculpture Park, with sculptures by Cypriot, Greek and international artists. To the northeast is the Limassol Archaeological Museum, exhibiting artifacts from the Neolithic to the Roman periods.
This is a busy city, known for its growing tech sector and cosmopolitan style of living. It has a bustling modern Marina area which is a centre for night time leisure activities.
Polis and Latchi
Small relatively quiet towns with stunning coastlines.
Polis is a town at the north-west end of the island of Cyprus at the centre of Chrysochous Bay and on the edge of the Akamas peninsula nature reserve. Polis is close by to the beautiful fishing port of Latchi.
Polis is a relatively quiet town but does get fairly busy in the summer months. It has a delightful Old Town with small bars and restaurants in the centre. The town has some of the prettiest beaches close by and also benefits from the proximity to the Akamas National Park, an area of stunning natural beauty. Polis is served by Paphos airport which is approximately an 80 minute drive away.
Latchi is known for its harbour and its line of bars and restaurants. The town is small but gets very busy in the summer due to the beautiful location which includes the proximity to the Blue Lagoon.
Latchi has good beaches and is an area that is sure to grow in the next few years. More hotels are being built and the area has significant potential for further tourism and population growth. Accommodation costs are cheaper than both the other main areas of the island, mainly due to the distance from an airport and the more limited facilities.
