Local Attractions

Polis and Latchi are small towns located approximately just over an hour from the city of Paphos. They are are about three miles apart, with Polis being the larger of the two places.

Polis has a quaint Old Town square with bars and restaurants but the real benefit of this location is the tranquility of the surroundings and the sheer beauty of the scenery. Polis has a number of excellent beaches and inland the mountains are breathtaking in their scenic appearance.

The nearby harbour at Latchi is where there are many marina side bars and restaurants. Its harbour is on the middle of two sandy beaches and approximately five miles from the Akamas National Park. Not far from here are other attractions including the legendary Bath of Aphrodite and the beautiful Blue Lagoon. Many boat trips operate from Latchi and buggy hire is available locally for days out in the park.

Living in Polis and Latchi

This area is relatively quiet and peaceful compared to other major locations on the island. If you’re seeking a lively atmosphere with plenty of activities, it may not be the right fit. However, if a more tranquil lifestyle appeals to you, this could be exactly what you’re looking for.

While the towns do get busier during the summer, they tend to be quite calm in the winter months. Families with school aged children should also consider that the nearest international school is about an hour away in Paphos, which could be a limiting factor.

That said, beyond its natural beauty, the area offers some clear advantages. Accommodation is considerably more affordable than in other regions, largely due to its more remote location making it a great place to find a stunning property at a more accessible price point.
