Local Attractions

Polis and Latchi are small towns located approximately just over an hour from the city of Paphos. They are are about three miles apart, with Polis being the larger of the two places.

Polis has a quaint Old Town square with bars and restaurants but the real benefit of this location is the tranquility of the surroundings and the sheer beauty of the scenery. Polis has a number of excellent beaches and inland the mountains are breathtaking in their scenic appearance.

The nearby harbour at Latchi is where there are many marina side bars and restaurants. Its harbour is on the middle of two sandy beaches and approximately five miles from the Akamas National Park. Not far from here are other attractions including the legendary Bath of Aphrodite and the beautiful Blue Lagoon. Many boat trips operate from Latchi and buggy hire is available locally for days out in the park.

Living in Polis and Latchi

This area is fairly quiet and sedate by comparison to the other main locations on the island. If you are looking for a busy place with lots to do, then this area probably isn’t for you. However if you aren’t looking for that, this area may be exactly what you are looking for.

The towns are busy in the summer, but they can be quite quiet in the winter. If you have children of school age then this area may also be an issue as the closest International School is an hour away in Paphos.

Apart from the obvious beauty of this place, it does have other benefits. Accommodation is significantly cheaper than in the other areas, mainly due to its more remote location. So a bargain can be had if you’re looking to buy or rent a stunning property.
